The Dragon Boat Festival has a history of more than 2,500 years, and it is derived from the festival custom of driving away poison and avoiding evil spirits, resulting in a variety of rituals, entertainment, health care and other folk activities around the world, mainly sacrificing to Qu Yuan, commemorating Wu Zixu, inserting mugwort, hanging calamus, eating zongzi, dragon boat racing, etc. Activities vary slightly from place to place, especially in Zigui County, Hubei Province, Huangshi City is more typical. The Dragon Boat Festival officially became a national holiday in 2008, and is the only world "heritage" project in China in 2008.
